How marks are counted
- Paper I (General Studies & Educational Psychology): 75 questions, 150 marks, 90 minutes; each question is worth 150 ÷ 75 = 2 marks.
- Paper II (Subject & Special Education): 150 questions, 300 marks, 180 minutes; each question is worth 300 ÷ 150 = 2 marks.
- The exam is out of 450 marks, both papers added. Merit is on this written total; there is no interview.
- A wrong answer costs one third of a question's marks (−0.67).
- Option E (“question not attempted”) scores 0: nothing added, nothing cut.
- A question with no option filled in at all, not even E, is a blank: it costs the same as a wrong answer. More than 10% blanks in a paper (7 of 75 in Paper I, 15 of 150 in Paper II) and the candidate is disqualified.
- To qualify you need at least 40% in each paper (60 of 150 in Paper I, 120 of 300 in Paper II); 35% for SC/ST, with further relaxation for ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities under their rules.
- If RPSC deletes questions, they count for no one and their marks are spread over the rest.
Frequently asked questions
When will RPSC release the School Lecturer (Special Education) 2026 answer key?
RPSC usually releases its model answer keys, one for each paper, within a few days of the exam, on its website. We will add the date here when RPSC announces it. On exam evening, TopKaro's teachers publish an unofficial key for both papers on this page so you can check your score sooner.
How do I raise an objection?
After the model keys are out, RPSC takes objections online on its website for a few days. You log in, pick the paper and question, give your reason with a source, and pay a fee per question as set in RPSC's notice. The final keys come after experts review the objections.
How is the score calculated?
Paper I has 75 questions for 150 marks and Paper II has 150 questions for 300 marks, so each question is worth 2 marks. A wrong answer costs one third of a question's marks (−0.67), and so does a question left with no option at all; option E scores 0. If questions are deleted, a paper's marks are spread over the questions that remain. Your total is Paper I and Paper II added, out of 450. The calculator above does all of this for you.
What is option E?
Every question has a fifth circle, E, for “question not attempted”. Marking E scores 0, with no negative mark. If more than 10% of the questions in a paper (7 of 75 in Paper I, 15 of 150 in Paper II) have none of the five circles filled in, the candidate is disqualified.
What are the minimum qualifying marks?
RPSC's notice asks for at least 40% in each paper: 60 of 150 in Paper I, 120 of 300 in Paper II (35% for SC/ST; further relaxation for ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities under their rules). Merit is on the written-exam total out of 450; there is no interview.
Is the TopKaro key official?
No. Only RPSC's model and final keys are official. TopKaro's key is prepared by our teachers on exam evening so you can estimate your score early; answers we are not sure of are marked “?”, and we update the key when RPSC publishes its own.
